In 1998, it was decided that a photographic department was no longer required and so I worked for a different department while still being asked to take photographs when required. In 2002, redundancy was offered and I welcomed it with open arms. At last I could fulfill my dream.
Apart from weddings, my other big passion is portrait photography and I try to add a high level of originality into all forms of this genre. Too many of my contemporaries use a formuleic approach with the result being that one photographer's work looks pretty much like anothers'.
I now shoot most of my work digitally. The quality, now is at least as good as film, with the advantages of the ability to switch between colour and black & white using the same camera, and faster turnaround time for proof images.
I've been married to the lovely Sarah, who is a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, for 16 years and we often work on weddings and shoots together. Sarah also provides a comprehensive make up and skincare service for brides to be and for my portrait subjects. Her own site can be viewed here.
Like any artist, I like to put my style "signature" on my work and I hope that this is evident in the examples on these pages.
